X-Rays and Lasers - What's Happened?
Lasers have reached a critical moment where the energy out has exceeded the laser energy. They are always in competition with disassembly, you need to compress the fuel and have it burn enough fuel before the whole thing disassembles. And they talked about these tiny little imperfections, which I guess are a bit like imperfections in frosted glass, a distortion which changes the interaction quality. So essentially, in order to have deuterium and tritium solid, it must be cryogenically cold.
