How to Unpack Your World in an Environment Like a First Meeting
Clayton Christensen: How do you unpack your world in an environment like that, a first meeting. What I will typically do is come back to an aside statement of purpose. Our purpose as an organization since our foundation 20 years ago is to empower forward thinking organizations for the future. We would advise people to go and spend time at the intersections. Don't go straight to the main part of your existing market. Go to the periphery, go to the edges, go to fringe customers. That'll give you stimulation to spot something that might be different. Try to look for combinations as Steve Jobs liked to quote Pablo Picasso, good artist, copy, great artist, steal.
