Russia used to be well renowned within the field of space surveillance. They've obviously fallen behind now, but is this still an angle that Moscow prioritizes with their space funding? I think they are going a lot for anti-satellite weapons, including dazzling, shining lasers blinding, and kinetic attacks in the short term, via missiles fired from earth. Nobody has yet tried to take out an adversary's satellite - that would constitute an act of war. But that doesn't mean that big powers are not rehearsing it and making sure that when the time comes, they're able to do it.
