The Cost of Pollution
It's profitable to just throw your pollution in the ocean for many companies because the ocean doesn't sue you. The ocean doesn't do anything about it. It just takes the garbage. To force producers to impute the cost of pollution into their operations, my argument is you need really strong private property. You need full private ownership of the means of production and ownership of resources in the world. Simply put, there's no motivation to care or protect for anything if it belongs to no one.
