The Importance of Drilling Down to Antarctica
Drilling down to Lake Bastock in Antarctica has been cited as an analog for exploring ice moons like Europa. "We need analogs because it's incredibly hard to go out and actually investigate these places in space," William says. We find lots of strange environments on Earth, including the bottom of our oceans where organisms live that just shouldn't survive.
