The Gospel of Mark

All four gospels are formal anonymous. None of them actually name themselves. So in that sense it's not unusual that the author doesn't name himself. But by preserving his anonymity, he allows readers to see themselves from Jesus' point of view. The gospel of John is a book that families or individuals can read together.
