I Am Lost to the World by Mahler

The first moment is from his second symphony in the first movement. Mahler builds up to this moment with huge waves of violence, writing music that was unprecedented at its time and its fury and rage. I always like to compare this moment to a musical black hole, with so much mass and power that it destroys everything in sight.
