In November of 2020, a 75-year-old woman reported testing positive for COVID and that she had most likely became infected while visiting a dance club. This case would be known as the first of what became one of Hong Kong's largest super spreader events involving more than 700 confirmed cases. It led to a series of revelations about what bored wealthy women do behind closed doors during the day in not just one, but a vast network of venues across Hong Kong. Their husbands don't dance, they prefer to play ball games like golf so these dance venues become a vibrant recreational market.
