The Parallel Mirror Opposite of the One Camille Described
I grew up in a work class neighborhood, but from a Jewish background, I didn't know any evangelicals. My grandparents were my big influence. So like anything that was like moral majority, social conservatism was like this icky kind of tyrannical evil attempt to control people's private lives. And then when I went to school in Washington, D.C., and then at law school in New York, it became even more reinforced that evangelicals were primitive.
