The Light From the Pole by Clark Ashton Smith

This is a story from clark ashton smith called the light from the pole. It's about a time traveller who goes to the very end of time and encounters slimy, sludge-like creatures that are like arthropod type creatures. And it got me thinking about h g, wellsa in terms of primordial ooze kind of idea of origins of life.
