City planning aims to eke out as much profit from every square footage of the city. From rent paid to live here to the price of a pint, it all reflects the cost of the land that that building has to cover in order to justify being there. Not being able to afford a pint is one thing, but when you and your home are seen as at odds with the value and speculated value of that land, we start to confront the apex of this problem.
