Facebook's Acquisition of ZeniMax by Oculus - What's the Story?

Facebook bought Oculus in March of 2014 for $2 billion. The company was founded by former id software employee John Carmack. ZeniMax, a video game conglomerate that owns studios including the one that makes games such as Iron Man and Cal Ripken Jr., is on the board of ZeniMax. A jury recently awarded ZeniMax more than $500 million against Facebook and Oculus after they were accused of stealing critical IP from their work at id Software.
