The Word of God Is God's Son

The statement that jesus refers to is from psalm 82. God has taken his place in the divine council, in the midst of the gods. As a nation, and particularly its rulers, israel enjoyed something of this identity. They were set up like gods to the nations, ount delivering the judgments of god and speaking in his name. Israel was described as the lord's first born son, and consequently could speak with some authority. If the people to whom the word of god came as his prophetic messengers could be referred to as gods, how more the word ofgod himself who has come to human beings. The term that he is called is not the most important thing
