Be conscious is not equivalent to be clever, or to be ligent, or to have cognition. We have plenty of evidence that a variety of complicated things can be done in some particular condition. For instance, pathological condition is apparent in humans in the absence of consciousness. So this rayse the issue of the function of consciousness, what is it for? And obviously the riging of consciousness, how it would make its appearance in the in the history of or biological life. I think these are really crucial, crucial question.
