Sally Kohn: How do we learn to see the humanity of people who are so far apart from us that we cannot think our way into a scenario in which we would go and do something like that? Kohn: It's kind of beyond our comprehension of what it is to be human. But I mean, despite that, it seems like there was an instant response from the people closest to that tragedy in being able to speak compassionately of it - not to reach for hatred. "I found that to be so inspiring," she says.
