i don't like its use of brand as the central figure, and i think the focus is kind of blinkered. You really have to look at the long span of the war in asia to make sense of those periods and the historical tasks that these people were imbedded in. Nd ellis d is a perfect example. He's a soldier in this broader war against the communist world,. Part of the one front of that war was the experimentation with these substances. So stuart brand was still a soldier in that way.
