The Effects of Psychedelic Drugs on Academic Freedom
Harvard's social relations department was experimenting with psychedelic drugs in the early 1960s. Larry Alpert gave psilocybin to a friend of his, who happened to be Harry Winston's son. The university tried to stop him from doing it but he and another colleague were fired for violating their rules. This incident kick-starts counter culture by exposing society to drug use on college campuses.
