The Evolution of Earthworms

Darwin was obsessed with earthworms and barnacles, but mostly earthworms. One of his classic experiments was he got his son to play the bassoon to earthworms in order to determine whether they could hear low notes or not. The conservation area that I was doing working for several months this year in Papua New Guinea was awarded a United Nations equator prize. And it's one of those shiny examples and quite a rare example in a way of conservation that just works.
