Is There a Dual Processing Theory?
There's a lot of convergence in psychology on the idea of a dual processing theory that we have multiple competencies. The main idea here is that these are different ways in which you process information. And this process works largely intuitively and it works very much in a highly associational fashion. It makes use of a lot of implicit processing and it's very fast. So this is the kind of processing that you're using all the time in what we talked about this when Varela talked about your ability to cope, this is your coping.
