Fishing - A Field Sport, Not a Hobby
Fishing, like the other field sports, has this long aristocratic history. People had more time and could travel slightly further by the railway to fishing spots that otherwise would have been a whole day's cycle ride away or a walk. You'd go on a sunday and sit round a muddy pool and try and pull out either the most numbers of fish or the biggest way. So it's 19 22, a time when leisure is coming into its own - but is there a way to make even the drudgery of everyday life fun?
