Plutarch suggests that tiberius might not be squeaky clean. He says some people say cornelia was to blame because she wanted fame through her children. This seems like a ridiculous argument, and one that's based on what she becomes later known as 'the mother of the gracco' So why does tiberius take up this cause then? Because while this sort of reform would be popular with the people, especially the unemployed, unwashed masses in at the time, it's not ging o be popular with powerful people who get to make the decisions.
