The Importance of Safety in C++

Software is everywhere. And that means it's deep in our critical infrastructure. So I've been working on a gradual progression towards a more type safe language and more productive language at the same time by emphasizing abstraction. A lot of people were trying to improve their own little corner of the language, ignoring the big picture. The C++ Standards Committee was not focused well enough on that aspect of C ++. That paper did receive some criticism in the community. But I think there's like some really great ideas in there.
