You Shall Not Be in Dread of Them.
Dean Obeidallah: Deuteronomy is a fascinating chapter because it presents two extremely opposite situations as the same thing, which is a test. The first half of this chapter talks about the lord testing israel with regard to their lack, so to speak, in the wilderness and they didn't have are supply of food. And then verses 11 to the end of the chapter talk about the danger of prosperity once you come into the land,. He says he tests them in order to humble them and let you hunger and fed you with manna. But what the lord was ultimately doing was showing them that they needed to live by faith.
