The Practice of the Presence of God by Nicholas Herman

Before he was known as Brother Lawrence of the Resurrection, who was Nicholas Herman and what were some of the key points of his life journey. When he was 18 also, he had a what we would call I guess I'm mystical experience. And so when he was about 18 or so, he decided to join the military. So he joins the military and he is in the 30 years war. Now this for me is something that I spent a lot of time on as a translator investigating the 30 years more and it was hell. It's really one of the first instances where they start talking about modern warfare with all these Catholics Protestants fighting across Europe.
