If you're multiplying it by a positive constant as part of the transformation, it will have the exact same correlation. The square root of 10 is equal to 3.16227766017. If there's some advantage in symmetric or a scale or optimization in maximum likelihood, it just doesn't matter. Those are linear transformations. I view them as using a tool to help you achieve some end.
