The New Bedford Whaling Museum
In January, news broke that a former employee of the New Bedford Whaling Museum had been arrested and was facing charges after allegedly stealing at least $75,000 worth of objects. The museum has declined to comment on this due to the ongoing criminal proceedings. It's illegal to ask about a person's criminal record on a job application, but it is legal to conduct criminal background checks during the hiring process.
