Freedom House paramedics were also some of the first people to use devices that are now commonly used by paramedics. The ambulance design, which was set up to be a mobile intensive care unit rather than just a ride to the hospital, also provided the template for ambulances today. Doctors and public health administrators from around the country started paying attention to what Freedom House was doing.
