The Importance of Access Logs in Tomcat
If you want access logs, that's kind of the price you have to pay. And they are incredibly useful when things go wrong. Once you get to those sorts of timing issues where you've got really high load and everything's really quick, as soon as you attach a profiler, it all starts to go horribly, horribly wrong often. You can't reproduce it. Those are the bugs that I normally sort of score in a sort of, yeah, that's going to take weeks to get to the bottom.
