The Origins of Freemasonry
The first meeting place was a lodge room they prepared in Golden Fleece. By 1799, there were several other black Masonic lodges that had been granted permission to operate under Prince Hall's charter. Historian James Sidbury: Prince Hall and those who joined him to found Boston's African Masonic lodge built a fundamentally new quote African movement on the preexisting institutional foundation.
