The Silk Road: A Golden Age of Research
There are Eurasian circulations that stretch over millennia and this is much more than just a trade route or multiple trade routes. The term, he publishes it, but it only really enters European popular imagination in the 1930s. And so it's this folding of history, modern day exploration, as Marco Polo reentes popular culture in the beginning of the 20th century, that get folded into the ways in which we think of the Silk Road. It's a history about connectivity rather than nation states, obviously - important to say.
