The Assyrians - The Story of the Sumerians

The assyrians saw the ruins of ancient cities scattering their landscape and developed stories to explai in how they got there. They believed that a great flood had once washed over the world, and that these ruined heaps of stone and brick were a remnant of this destructive ancient event. For much of the region's early history, the acadians had been something of a junior partner to their sumerian cousins. But now, with the collapse of suma, the acadian cities of the north were finally free, and they set out on their own journeys. One of these cities was the city of ashur.
