Delaying Puberty Leads to Longer Lives in Mice

Researchers exposed newborn male and female mice to odours from adult mice for 12 weeks. They swabbed their little noses with urine collected from the adults. And they also placed soil bedding in with the pups. Newborn females that went through puberty later ended up living 45 days longer. It's an 8% increase in lifespan, so it's pretty big. But interestingly, they didn't see the same effect in male mice.
