Trauma in Children
The psychological defense makes sure to avoid any contact with this domain of inner sensitivity even if it means avoiding feelings and emotional closeness altogether narcissistic personality development can also have its origin here. It is not easy to simply observe trauma in children especially very young ones there is no model for how to react to the incomprehensible trauma. Everything that happens to a person but which they cannot psychologically integrate, understand, cope with or process inwardly remains of blazing vividness within them patients are often astonished that events from childhood still have an effect on everyday life.
