The Origins of Community Network Detection

community detection remains a very prominent area of network science and have related things. The notion of data clustering predates long before any official beginnings but I know the earliest or I think the earliest paper we cite in that work was by it was Stuart Rice. There's a lot of work from computer science on trying to do things became spectral clustering spectral means just from a technical point of view using ideas like eigenvalues and eigenvectors.
