The Higgs Boson and the Standard Model

The Higgs boson is different from any of the other particles that are in the standard model. Because it's a scalar particle, the way it interacts with W and Z gives them a mass. But those interactions also kind of return the favor, and they make the Higgs mass get bigger. And what you'd be led to expect is that the HiggsMass should be pushed up through these interactions all the way up to some very, very high scale.
