Is There Concern About Chinese Media Influence?

South Asia isn't monolithic although it's often viewed that way in sort of European and North American minds, unfortunately, maybe Japanese too. I would say the highest level of concern is in Singapore, which always has thehighest level of concern about China. The Chinese language present in Malaysia is owned by a tycoon who is very strongly pro-Beijing. And then you have countries that are already de facto Chinese satellites where there is so indebted financially or diplomatically to China that they couldn't do anything anyway.
