The Metascience Movement's Automatic Defensiveness
There's been some discussion here that this automatic reflexive defensiveness of Metascience practices comes from this idea that initially the Metascience movement, they had to be defensive because you'd have funny dudys going. I'm not so sure about that. One primary thing that people have been calling for is transparency. When people are making claims or suggesting new ways to do things, they're showing their receipts. So automatically, people can actually evaluate the work that they're doing. But one side part of this is this idea that critiques are not being cited.
