The Election Crimes Unit's Track Record
The election crimes unit was created by Gov. Ron DeSantis to combat voter fraud and illegal voting in the state's elections. Many cases have been dismissed on legal grounds, including that a prosecutor wasn't legally allowed to bring charges against felons who had already served their sentences. The governor says his intention is to make sure voters are doing what they're supposed to do when it comes to ballots.
