The third novel seems to me really extraordinary attempt, which appears in 1949. It exists in this sort of limbo time where they're obviously doing war work, but the war is over. The holiday is very dreamlike and it bears an interesting relationship to a short story that she published in 1947. She writes these long poems called Angel Boli, which is a response to the Moore's murders. And it's this intense, unriaming fairytale about whether it's right in certain circumstances to kill in order to see justice done.
