The Importance of Authenticity in Music
I was raised in a Christian family. I associated being a Christian with being a good kid, you know, obeying your parents and also being a Christian. So that on the faith side, that's kind of cold. My uncle is a Grammy award winning drummer,. um, going to his gigs at, uh, jazz clubs around Nashville. That's what he really evolved into. And my parents would also be spoken word poets and hip hop artists when I was growing up. It just naturally evolved into rap and hip hop as well.
