CHAPTER

Is the DUP Going to Sit on the Fence for Six Weeks?

If the DUP reject the deal, it won't mean the end of devolution at Stormont. But they may not want to go back into government until there are new assembly elections. They have a chance of becoming the largest party again and therefore don't have to serve under a Sinn Fein First Minister. The only thing I would add is if this happens after the budget - these tend to be the usual suspects. If there's a head of steam in a rebellion building up over something else, that might get marshal behind this. It's very, very hard to know for sure.
