What Happened to the Cherokee in North America?

I had never really devoted that much thought to the actual actions that indifferent indigenous groups took consciously to prevent, to protect themselves from the spread of diseases. We don't think about that. We're not taught about it that way. And one of the things that we see when we look more in detail at the histories wher we listen to oral histories or look at the archaeology is that there are a number of things that people did and do to create the outcomes they want.
