There is a totally unwarranted sort of gravitas that you get in behavioral research when you start measuring things off people. They can be as capricious and unreliable and completely without meaning as anything else. The like a few other things, the more clinical sciences have solved this to a degree,. This is a problem because part of the reporting guidelines when you're reporting in clinical trials make you submit a checklist.
