Nancy mc williams is a kernbergian. Her thinking is very based on her first important book, psychoanalytic diagnosis. She says that psychoanalysis doesn't diagnose from the symptom picture. We diagnose the underlying personality organization of which there are three main structures. The neurotic organization, the border line organization and the psychotic organization.
