Is Amelia Bassano Dark?

The sonnets are obsessed with the dark lady's dark coloration. This may not mean literally black, but certainly shakespeare perceives her as dark and much darker in color than, say, the young man. There is no description of her anywhere in the many people who mentioned her in their writings. As for mary fitton, the queen's lady in waiting, some have said that the sculptural bust of her was dark in color, but it does not survive. The paintings of her do not show her as dark at all.
