How to Choose the Right Tube Size for Your Intubation

One size definitely does not fit all patients and our pediatric patients span from preterm neonates to adolescents so we really need to consider each child as an individual. In pediatrics you'll sometimes see people reaching for a miller blade or that long straight blade because the pediatric larynx is located more superiorly than in adults. The epiglottis is longer and a bit more floppy which makes the advancement of the tip of a Mac blade into the molecular much less effective than it is in an adult.
