"Recorded music is an incredible ally to any producer basically," he says. "I really kind of always felt like this was kind of like my cross to bear that I would sit in front of a fender tweet, you know, like a 20-year-old reverb." He's so much better for musicians coming up to start lo-fi because there's so many beautiful things that happen when you work with cassette and things that inherently have a lot of distortion and character.
