Drawing School - A Brief History of Thornhill
William hogarth studied under Sir jam thornhill, an accomplished artist and member of parliament. He was at odds with the neo classical revival that was under way at the time. Hogarth even published an engraving titled masquerades and operas which was a criticism of the trend to embrace foreign art above the art created in england. In 17 28 he painted his first dated painting up to this point but they didn't have dates on them so they will come up again in a little bit.
