"This explanation is galloping forward on pretty thin data," she says. "We don't need a lot of evidence to believe this one because most of us are alreadyPretty biased against fat people, so if you say that fat person is fat because there's something deeply wrong with them, a lot of people are like, yeah, that checks out." She adds: "If we're talking about the role of trauma in fat people's experiences, we got to be talking about the experiences of anti-fatness, which is traumatic as hell"
