Bart's Rejection of the Covenant of Works
God's being is not a substance that stands behind or abstracted from jesus christ and his grace to us. God therefore cannot act toward us in any other way than by grace. The logic of bart's rejection of the covenant of works is grounded in his understanding of the being of god. If he were actualized by man, then man would have absolutely no obligations before him. And because he is truly the self contained lord of man, the god of the bible can also be the god who saves to the uttermost.
